Stop Wasting Diamonds in Kingshot — The Smarter Way to Power Up

Stop Wasting Diamonds in Kingshot — The Smarter Way to Power Up

When I first started playing Kingshot, I had no idea how fast diamonds could disappear. Roulette, VIP upgrades, random event rewards — everything looks tempting. But once you realize how rare diamonds actually are, every spin starts to feel like a risk.

After experimenting (and honestly wasting a lot), I finally figured out what really works. This isn’t about fancy tricks — it’s about making every diamond count.

The illusion of “quick progress” through VIP

Most mobile strategy games push VIP systems hard, and Kingshot is no different. The bonuses look attractive — more attack, faster construction, better stats — but the deeper you go, the worse the exchange rate becomes.

Here’s the part most players don’t realize:
- Getting from VIP7 to VIP8 can easily cost around 100,000 diamonds.
- Moving from VIP9 to VIP11 burns over 2.4 million diamonds.
And what do you get? Barely noticeable bonuses like +10% or +12% team stats.

It sounds big, but when you actually check your defense values — say 500 or 1000 points — that “10%” barely changes anything in real combat.

So unless you’re spending serious money, don’t chase VIP levels too early. For most mid-tier players, VIP7 is the sweet spot — you unlock daily mythic shards and steady rewards without draining your account.

The real game changer: pets and taming signs

If you ask where the best diamond investment lies, it’s not in roulette or VIP — it’s in the ordinary taming signs at the diamond shop. That’s where the real stats come from.

Upgrading pets gives permanent boosts to infantry, cavalry, and archer lethality and health. It directly improves combat power, unlike VIP bonuses that barely move your numbers.

You can see this difference clearly: a mid-blue-level pet upgrade gives you far more effective stats than a full VIP level ever will. That’s why experienced players funnel their diamonds here first — because these stats scale with everything else you build later.

How to spend diamonds wisely

Here’s a pattern that’s worked consistently for low- and mid-investment players:

  • Save up at least 300,000 diamonds before doing anything major.
  • Prioritize roulette only when it aligns with your hero plan — not randomly.
  • Skip unnecessary VIP jumps until your troop count and pets justify it.
  • Invest heavily in pet upgrades, moving them from white → green → blue → purple step by step.
  • Wait for events like Christmas, New Year, or Valentine’s Day before major spending. Those events often include diamond-spending missions, letting you earn rewards for the same diamonds you’d spend anyway.

I learned the hard way that timing matters just as much as where you spend.

When it’s finally time to touch VIP again

Once all your pets are in the middle-to-high blue range, and you’re running mostly SSR-level ones, that’s when the equation changes. At that stage, upgrading VIP can start to make sense again — especially from VIP9 upward, where every small bonus starts to stack effectively with your already-strong stats.

It’s all about balance. You don’t want to hit VIP early when your base is weak. You want to hit it when your upgrades actually multiply your strength.

Roulette: useful, but with discipline

Roulette is tempting — the sound, the animation, the idea of pulling a 5-star hero without paying. But you’ll need around 162,000 diamonds just to complete one 120-spin cycle, and six full roulettes to max out a hero.

So if you want to use it, commit fully. Half measures waste diamonds. Keep about 300,000 in reserve just for that purpose, and don’t touch them unless you’re spinning for a hero that fits your strategy.

Final thoughts

If I could sum it up, it would be this: VIP looks powerful, but pets win the game.

Diamonds are too rare to spend emotionally. Whether you’re free-to-play or a light spender, focusing your diamonds on taming signs and event-timed purchases will push your stats much higher than random VIP jumps.

Every time I ignored that rule, I regretted it later. Every time I followed it, my battle reports proved me right.

In the end, efficient diamond use in Kingshot isn’t about hoarding — it’s about timing, purpose, and understanding where the real power comes from.
